Square Peg were brought together in the tunnels beneath the Roundhouse in 2009 and have since performed to thousands of people around the UK. We are associate artists at the Roundhouse and JacksonsĀ Lane and are now performing “Rime” which premiered at StAnza Poetry Festival in Scotland in early March and will be on national tour throughout the UK in 2014.
Square Peg combine highly skilled circus with a desire to push the boundaries of the art form. As a diverse group of people who found each other through a common passion for circus, we feed off our mutual energies and ideas, and actively engage with all strands of contemporary performance to expand what audiences in the UK perceive as circus.
Square Peg support open access to circus and enjoy teaching workshops at venues with local circus groups… as well as meeting our audiences after the show.
We are keen to forge European and worldwide connections through visiting festivals and touring internationally as well as nationally and to eventually become a major force in shaping the development of the UK circus sector.
